The performance and mobile navigation ability is pretty significantly hampered by the new forums.
Are there any tweaks that can be made for better perf for mobile browsing?
(Any recommended browsers?) -I tried upgrading to Opera Mobile 10 and it's still really slow even when on 3G.

Skyfire is the best I've found of the Mobile browsers

I've asked as well about getting thread title links and page number links increased in size a little , to aid clicking on them in small little screens

I'm afraid I have no tips on mobile browsers, as I just use whatever is on my BlackBerry. The initial load is certainly slower than the previous forum, but then it's a little more image-heavy, and the menus are more complex. I'll see if I can tune the images to further reduce the load. The output is already compressed, as with ICB, to minimise the download requirements.

I won't have time to make tweaks to the overall theme for quite some time, but in the long run want to look into a mobile version of the forum. This was raised in relation to ICB in the past, but as it was going to die there was no point in wasting time. For now, I use the zoom facility of my mobile browser to click on the links

EDIT:
Have made the Forum and post links a little larger. See if that helps Wallacebiy

Made one small tweak which can have a large impact (certainly on the server load). I've reduced the number of topics displayed per page from 50 to 20 (similar to what was on ICB). This should mean a slightly faster response time and less data being delivered, so might help with the mobile performance. Let me know if you notice a difference.

Is Tapatalk an option ? www.tapatalk.com/

I'm only using the demo version at the moment ( Read only ) but it does look like a good solution for mobile forum browsing . Don't know whats involved from the server end though .

I've gone and bought the full version of Tapatalk , it's a good app for forum browsing .

I'm talking to my partner about activating the plugin on our Forum too. I like the interface a lot and it seems to be available as an app for all the major mobile platforms .

I'd love if you looked into installing it on beoir ...
