Though I doubt a saturated market can be blamed for Jack Doyle's closing, nor Evans. In both cases it was nigh-on impossible to buy their beer.

Dingle, of Crean's lager fame, is gone into liquidation according to today's paper.

I hadn't seen their beer around in ages, and I think this was the first year that they missed the RDS. I wonder what'll happen to the site.

I presume everything will be up for sale to pay back as much as possible of the €1.6m owed to creditors.

I've never been to it, but I can't imagine the site has a whole lot of potential uses.

Site being sold with full planning for a distillery and visitors centre .

Yes, known about that one for awhile now. At least that puts paid to the whole "are they or are they not an Irish Craft brewery" question. Last I heard of them, they were threatening to sue Tom Creans granddaughter for daring to use his picture on her beer.

I was talking to some lads from Blackwater in Wexford at the weekend and there wasn't a huge amount of awareness of Jack Doyles, and no surprise that it was closed.
I do remember when he was starting out, it was said to me that he wouldn't last the distance because he was jumping on a bandwagon by someone who had visited the proposed brewery site

Crean's are showing up on the list for this year's Alltech fest now though. https://www.alltechbrews.ie/exhibitors#tid-58

And rumour has it that the family are going to contest the sale.
