Good show, the editing skills are getting very professional, including the subliminal advertising!

Jeez, that was a long shaky hand shake!

Episode 16 is live, Dublin Brewing History. We take to the streets of old Dublin to explore some of the city's
lost brewing heritage. John "The Beer Nut" Duffy is our guide as we
follow the history of Dublin beer from dozens of busy Victorian
breweries down to the last gasps of independence in the mid-20th
century, before the modern microbrewery revival.

Nice episode. Interesting stuff. Must pay more attention to the arched doorways up that side of town next time I'm up there.

Now on Youtube and audio, Episode 17 - Home Move Homebrews.

A short minisode to keep you going while I work on the full Episode 17. During a recent brewday, Emmet Ryan of Pint of View called over and we sampled some beers I unearthed when moving home. Here are a couple of them.

Episode 17 proper will be posted shortly.

Can anyone who sees me at the Beer Fest today who would like to film a 20sec beer review please grab me if you see me.

15 usable reviews filmed so far, hope to get at least 25 in the final episode. Even if you've already done one you are welcome to film another.

The much delayed episode 17 is finally posted. Homebrew Science!!! I split a batch of American pale ale four ways, and fermented it with four different yeast strains. The results shall we say, were recorded.

Interesting. I asked Chris White why choose liquid over dried yeast -- without naming names -- and he said that cropping/harvesting over many generations (as pro brewers would do) liquid strains should stay closer to their origins. He also strongly recommended top cropping as opposed to washing trub etc.

On paper 001 attenuates slightly more than US-05 too.

I think you'd need a slightly more talented brewer than I to really see the benefits of liquid yeast.

It's really more variety than anything else. If you're brewing a lot (i.e. commercial) top cropping would save you a fortune aswell.
