MoBI European Homebrewing Competition

Just starting out with your first brew? Or just want to talk brewing in general? This is the forum you're looking for.

Hey guys

MoBI (the italian EBCU member) came up with this competition that I find interesting :)

http://www.movimentobirra.it/pagina.aspx?id=28 (not sure if there's a translated version yet, I can translate it if Google Translate fails to bring meaning to a simple text like it...)

Does Beoir intend to participate?
Are we going to select beers from the recent NHC or are we going to find a different approach? :)

I think the NHC would be better placed as the Irish participant and I passed the details to irish_goat last month.

MoBI's not the Italian EBCU member, incidentally, but a corresponding member, which is a different status.

Great :) I'm looking forward for news! If I can help in any way, let me know... I'll probably be in Rome that week

Follow up email was received from MoBI over the weekend there. MoBI have suggested only allowing brewers who have won a gold medal in a respective category to enter and I think we'll go with that method. For categories with more than 2 gold medal winners looking to enter we could potentially have a small selection panel arranged at the RDS festival. Will iron out the details soon.

Entries have to be in 2 weeks before the judging day Giaco but they're looking for judges if you're interested. You can pick up the medals as well.

Gianriccardo already enrolled me, no way to avoid that :)
Is the NHC going to finance my travel?[emoji14]

BJCP Italy Gianriccardo? Himself and his wife sat opposite me in Messrs Maguire that time when I had Gordon Strong over for the BJCP exams. Both had very sick stomachs as they weren't used to the food, but really nice people.

Must give him a shout... If I'm around I might tip over myself.

Actually, Gianriccardo is a big fan of sour beers. :)
