Beer Style recs for Venison

Shot Bambi yesterday :shock: and I am looking for beer styles to consume with it in new year, I was thinking IPA?
Only joking about bambi it was road-kill :)

I do love my Venison and some years am lucky enough to get a decent supply of it.
I think a good porter, dark ale or even a stout is your only man for a good venison dish.

I'd be thinking dark and Belgian. A good kriek would work too, I'd say.
Fermenting: Cider
Running: Pale ale, IPA, Dry cider
Stock: Mead, Kit Barolo, Imperial stout, IPA, Quadrupel

Dark and something with forest fruit notes in it (juniper berries, sloes, plum, blackberries etc)
