Brown Ale

Since the last post I made was in a blind panic about infected beer, thought I'd throw up a non-failure story about my subsequent brew.

Used the Munton's Nut Brown Ale kit. Took the advice of the forums here and used Tesco bottled water in the fermenter. I used the WL Irish Ale yeast instead of the packet of dried that came with the kit and used a dark dry malt extract as additive.

Result was quite a nice brown ale. Very malty flavours with a semi dry finish. A bit thin on the palette but given I hadn't added in any extras I suppose that's unsurprising. Sure I was just happy to have something drinkable at the end of it given my previous travesty. :-)

Giving the Muntons Bock kit a shot next with yeast harvested from the above brew. Here's a-hopin.

Thanks again to all who helped me out last time.
