Getting Started

For those of us brewing with malted barley, as opposed to malt extract. It's not as hard as it sounds, so why not give it a go? The mash tun beckons.

I've done few kits and now want to move onto all grain. What equipment do I need? What is the rough cost of getting set up? Space is not a problem and there are four of us willing to spread the cost. Thanks in advance.

How long is a piece of string?
Braumeusrer for E1600?
On your Hob in your big Ham pot for free?
I hate to say it but everything you need to know is over on the NHC.

In truth a smart first step is BIAB - brew in a bag.
You can make most of the stuff yourself, or get a bundle for about E100 in any homebrew store.
Start here, you can always upgrade.
Some of the most fantastic beers are made with very simple equipment.

If there are 4 of you splash out on a Grainfather.

You'll need a couple of fermenters too.

Grainfather between a few people is a great way to go.
You can get starter packs from most of the home brew companies.
BIAB and all grain. If 4 of you are going in on the setup I'd recommend going for a much bigger kit then you think you need. Once you get hooked you'll always want more.
