Belfast craft beer pubs 4 years 8 months ago #1

hi all,

Heading to Belfast this weekend and hoping to hit a number of the craft beer pubs in the city.

Have done some research on the best places but would also be interested in the opinions of the Beoir members who have been to Belfast more regularly over the years.

Obviously the pubs need to have the best selection of craft beers on tap but also we'd be looking for bars with no loud music and friendly staffand good food.

Some of the places on our hit list at the moment include:

Sunflower
Woodworkers
Bittles
Boot Leggers
Hudson (Think now called Peaky Blinders) ... is this bar owned by the same people running the Errigle Inn?
Northern Lights
Hildon Brewery

Looking forward to other suggestions or rankings on which of the above you would consider the best place to hit.

regards,

Tim

The Errigle itself is well worth a look. I've heard The Woodworkers has taken a bit of a dive, unfortunately.

I've always liked The Crown. Usually has something decent on cask.

There's Wetherspoons if you want cask beer. Their fridges normally have some decent bottles and cans at good prices too.

Only other suggestion would be The Green Room[/url:2787t9ul]. It's a theatre cafe bar but has a decent selection of craft beer. No loud music as far as I remember.

I'd add the John Hewitt to that list. Decent enough selection, and the food is lovely, often with an interesting fish special. It's my usual spot for lunch when I'm up working in Belfast. It's also non-profit, owned by the Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre next door.
They do have live music some evenings, but it's quiet
during the day.

Only other spot in the centre I can think of is the Garrick. It's a busy enough spot at night though.
