beer suggestion for fish n chips ? 11 years 10 months ago #7

Seen as how there's plenty more fish in the sea, I'll chip in - I'd go for a guinness foreign extra, no good reason... its just the best beer the offie across from the chippie has, and strangely enough they seem to go quite well together.

Those chips are gone but I made a pitstop in Mulligans on the way home this evening and tonight's chips were accompanied by Metalman Pale Ale and Rogue Amber Ale

hoppy beer is the only way to go with fish n chip. i like indian grub but nothing seems to go with it bar the bland stuff you get in there.any recomendations. ??

side note : the bierhalle in cork has some very good eats and indicates the matching beer. well worth a pop. prices are very good and the beer speaks for itself.

Think you've got it backwards - hoppy beer with spicy food all the way, a winning combination.

Hoppy beer and full-on spicy food just doesn't work for me. Spices kill the hops. And everything else.
