Molson Coors buys Thomas Hardy brewery 6 years 1 month ago #1

Just noticed that Molson Coors have bought the contract brewing facility at Burtonwood (ironically the brewery where Rye River's beers were originally produced). This[/url:c2a46hiw] says it'll be brewing Molson Coors branded beers, which suggests to me they have no plans to be up front with drinkers about where the MC beer in their hand was actually brewed.

mmmh not good, does the new cork brewery have its ow bottling line?

They also recently started back up their massive whole sale business. I wonder if they are planning to use this facility to BUL select ranges or add new beers.

Well, it's not really BUL when you own the brewery making the beer.

Interesting take on it ...

Normally though with these type of investment type Parent/child companies I'd suspect they would still maintain a BUL type relationship
For tax and liability purposes I presume .

i.e Molson Coors UK and Ireland ltd. would pay it's parent Molson Coors international a licence fee to brew it's beers ,and then Contract it's child company , Thomas Hardy Ltd. to actually brew the beers . Makes for a handy method of creating efficiencies in intercompany payments ...
