How about a recipe archive instead of people just posting recipes in the forums? It might be easier for people to find them that way. What do you think?

That sounds like a great idea to me

It's something we have thought about, but I don't think it'll be any time soon. There are new versions of the underlying content management system and forum due out "soon" (don't ask me when as I'm sick of waiting for them myself ) and I've been trying to hold off deploying major modules until we shift over to them so we don't have to duplicate effort or costs in a new environment.

The new CMS is at Release Candidate 2 as of 1st September, and the forum component is at RC5. Once they are both fully released we'll have to wait till the bridging between them is developed before we can migrate the whole site to the new platform, then we can look at really extending some of the core functions. I've had a list of things I want to add since we launched this incarnation last March.

I know it's a pain, but I hope you understand

Didn't quite follow that, but I'll take it as a "we're working on it but it might be a while". Thanks.

It's a little disorganised as recipes and ingredients are lumped in together.
If people stick to this type format when posting a recipe:

[quote:p3cd0gh0]Recipe: Irish Stout[/quote:p3cd0gh0]

it may help a little.

Thanks.[/quote:7kufmqsj]More like, we're not doing it now, but we might at a later stage. There are a few sites out there that do this really well, so we'd be just looking at this from an ICB perspective. I like Noby's suggestion in the meantime. I always post up the recipes we make in the Extract section. We could make a dedicated recipes section.
